The Bridging Lanka Guaranteed Ltd is assisting to form a “ Mannar hotelman’s Tourism committee “ with the help of Mannar Chamber of Commerce, The Mannar Urban Council and with the blessing of Govt Agent & Divisional Secretary Mannar Town.
In the past two years more tourist from local & foreignwho have come to Mannar but they don’t have a cleaned, environment friendly sea beach in Mannar, in order to facilitate the need of a good Beach the Keeri beach five acres of land was earmarked by the Committee in consultation of UC, The Costal Conservation Board & DS Mn.
Last Month the UC had cleared the bushes by Peko Machine and on 30th of November massive Shiramadana was sponsored by the Bridging Lanka and UC. Many youth from Shanthy puram, Anbu Sahothirar Illum, and keeri Public engaged in 5 hours Shiramadan by raking the entire place and cleared all Sea waste, garbage’s, sea Shells, bushes, Empty glass & Plastic bottles.
Very Soon the hotelman’s committee and UC will fence the secured cleared area with fence, and Few hotelman’s has come forward to put up cabanas, seats, easy chair, tuck shops in that area.
Also we have planned to build a modern washroom with men &Women Toilet, shower, and Changing room in that vicinity.
By doing this the Keeri public who have Auto vehicles could earn good income, Also keeri people could put small tea kiosk in the road side and sell snacks.
The UC will maintain this beach with the help of Tourism committee of Bridging Lanka.
The Public had been kindly requested make keeri beach a modern thus earn foreign exchange from the Tourist abroad. But see that no garbage is thrown on that area.
